Boston is covered in 2 feet of snow but auditions are still on for tomorrow! The T might be down but the driving ban was lifted earlier today so try to score a ride to Green Street. In case there’s no street parking, there is parking at the Green St Garage located a minute’s walk from the studio. It’s only $1.50/hr. http://goo.gl/maps/yE4ln
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night! Dress warm on your way to the studio.

Tonight we are performing in the showcase FUNK’tion 4. And tomorrow we will be competing at World of Dance Boston, where the fall season will kick off in earnest. Last year our Peanuts themed set won us 1st place and best costumes! This year we’re returning champions, so of course the expectations are higher. But we’ve prepared for that and have put together a set we’re all proud of. Regardless of the judges results, we will entertain and push ourselves to new heights. And we really hope you can be there to see it!
When: Tomorrow! Saturday the 10th of November, starting at 4pm
Where: the Chevalier Theater at 30 Forest Street, Medford, MA
Tickets can be purchased online at their website, or at the door. If you buy them ahead of time you can use the code FACEBOOK online for a special discount!
Going into this competition our hopes are high, and we hope everyone can make it! Hearing the crowd react and cheer to a new set is one of the best parts of what we do. Come out and enjoy the show!
It’s time for our first performance this season! We will be unveiling our brand new set this Friday at FUNK’tion 4! This event is not a competition, but a great showcase that we were proud to be a part of last year. It’s hosted by Northeastern University’s Kinematix, and the line up is pretty exciting! It includes our sister crews: Static Noyze, PROject Nailz and BOSStown, as well as the headliners Mos Wanted Crew and I AM ME from ABDC! This show is definitely gonna be a huge event you don’t wanna miss! Here are all the details:
When: Friday, November 9th at 8pm
Where: Northeastern University’s Blackman Auditorium on campus – 360 Huntington Ave, Boston
Tickets are free for all NEU students, and cost $7 for the general public. They can be purchased online at the University’s ticket center, as well as at the door until they’re sold out.
That’s all for today! Keep an eye out for an update with all the details for WOD Boston, coming very soon!
By now the chill of autumn has set in and we all know that the fall competitions are only weeks away. In the ConArt studio, we’ve been hard at work, getting a brand new set ready. Right now we’re in the thick of it, cleaning and planning every detail. Because we know exactly what it takes to win these competitions. This time the pressure’s on since we will be returning champions this year and expectations will be higher than ever.
But that’s only for us, everyone else should just be looking forward to a great show! We always keep in mind that entertaining the audience is our biggest goal. So get hype! We have a very busy November lined up and we just wanted to tell you about it so you can start planning. Come to one show, or come to all our shows! Either way you won’t be disappointed. Check out what we have planned.
Friday, November 9th – FUNK’TION at Northeastern University
Saturday, November 10th – WOD Boston at the Chevalier Theatre
Saturday, November 17th – PRIDE 5 at the New Jersey Convention Center
We’ll give you all the details as these events get closer. Hopefully you’ll be able to make it out and cheer us on. As usual there’s gonna be a full line up at every show and lots of great dancing to enjoy. We’ll see you there!
We had a great time performing at CollegeFest last week. For many of us it was our first time there, and we weren’t sure what to expect. But the atmosphere was really hype and the audience really responded when we were on stage. As performers, that’s all we can ask for. A lot of our friends were there too, including Static Noyze, BossTOWN, Project Nailz and a bunch of college dance crews as well. We hope to represent on stage at CollegeFest in future years and we hope you make it out. There’s a lot of free swag, music shows and dancers. What more do you need?
This is a good chance to tell you guys about Dance Netwerk, since they had a booth at CollegeFest and gained a lot of new members! Dance Netwerk is an online community for dancers in the New England area. You can post videos, find out about studios, events, workshops, lessons and performances. “Our mission is to give your dance community an opportunity to come together, engage, and inspire.” You can’t say it much better than that. So if you’re a dancer in the area, sign up for free and check it out. It’s totally free and super easy to join. It’s a great way to stay informed and involved with dancers in our area.
If you’re wondering what ConArt is up to these days, you’ll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned and get ready.
There was a great turn out at our auditions last week and we want to say thanks to everyone who showed up. As usual, it was pretty intense, but it was inspiring to see everyone working hard and pushing themselves. And of course, congratulations to all of our new members! If you’re interested, go ahead and click on our button labeled “The Crew” to see our updated roster. Now that we know who the players are, it’s time to shape up and get ready for a new season of competitions. There’s a lot to look forward to, and we have some fresh ideas, so be sure to keep an eye out for us!
To kick off the fall we’re doing an exhibition performance at CollegeFest this year. For those of you who don’t know, CollegeFest is held at the Hynes Convention Center every year to welcome students to Boston! There’s gonna be live music, free swag, and tons of sponsors. It should be a lot of fun, and you can get a two day pass for just $15 here! We’ll be there this Saturday afternoon to perform our set and we’d love to see you. It’ll probably be your last chance to see us perform before the competitions start up. Don’t miss out!
Fall has arrived and it’s time to gear up for the upcoming competitions. As usual we are holding open auditions for anyone who is interested. It’s all going down on Sunday September 9th, from 7:30pm-10:30pm. You can find us at 185 Green St, Cambridge; inside the aptly named “Green Street Studios”.
For those of you who don’t know how this works, let me break it down. You show up in some comfy clothes and shoes with whatever dance experience you have (none required). You fill out a quick form and you get a number. Then the fun starts! We do a group warm up and then it’s basically a free dance lesson. You’ll be taught a short set of choreo and then we’ll split up into groups and perform it as best we can. Once everyone’s had a turn we do another short set in a different style. You get the idea!
We hope to see all of you there! It’s a great way to have fun, dance, and meet some new people. Check out our fb event for more details.
